YouTube Premiere: The Goudies - Two

We are so excited to be premiering the official YouTube video of Americana Husband and Wife duo The Goudies' new single, 'Two'.

A favourite from The Goudies’ live show, 'Two' was originally released on Beth’s solo album in 2019. It is a moving reflection on the simple beauty of building a life as a married couple – two independent individuals, forming something even better together. The song was recorded live at the award winning local business and ‘tiny’ independent delicatessen – The East Street Deli, Wimborne. The setting was chosen as a tribute to Sam and Beth’s weekly visits to the shop during the UK lockdown, and the Tiny Show Tuesday live streams that formed The Goudies whilst they lived in the town.

I know I’m still me, and I love that you’re still you. But isn’t life sweeter now we’re two

THE GOUDIES, TWO

The combination of the two vocals coming together is spine-chilling, and the way the two perform brings a sense of love, unity, and delicacy that is so rare. The stripped back acoustic performance allows the listener to focus on the lyrical aspect and the personal message behind the song. Whether it makes you think about a significant other, a good friend, or a family member, we can all find comfort in this beautiful track.

About The Goudies

The Goudies (GOW-dees) are South Wales (UK) based, husband and wife folk-country duo — Sam & Beth Goudie. Their close harmonies and honest sound have drawn comparison with the ‘California Sound’ of 60s/70s Laurel Canyon and Americana artists such as The Civil Wars and Gillian Welch & David Rawlings. As singers and songwriters they explore the relationship of love, faith, and the spaces in between — always ending in hope. The Goudies have been featured at the British Country Music Festival, on BBC Introducing, and Absolute Music Country as well as winning the Amazing Radio weekly audition and being selected as Richer Unsigned Artist of the Week.
