Rob Riser is a Nashville based artist originally from the upstate Adirondack region of Upstate New York. Rob fell in love with music after experiencing the power it can have to make a positive impact and, after 15 years of writing songs and playing guitar, finally made the leap to doing music full-time in 2019 and making the move to music city!
As a young kid, Rob used to tell everyone he wanted to change the world. He fell in love with music after experiencing the power it can have to make a positive impact. Music saved his life and he wanted to do the same for others. He started writing songs and playing guitar over 15 years ago and made the leap to doing music full-time in 2019. After years of fronting cover bands like Whiskey Highway, Rob relocated to Nashville in 2019 and is now fully focused on being an artist and releasing original material. Rob plays regularly with his band in Nashville.
'Get Down Girl' is a modern, country track with a punchy drum beat, and a powerful, earthy vocal. Think Kip Moore, Jason Aldean and, low-key Brantley Gilbert.
"An upbeat song to dance that is “written for women and to be empowering”"
Lyrically, the song strongly relates to one of empowerment and confidence! It encourages one to forget about life and enjoy being on the dance floor. It speaks of allowing the music to take you away and, about getting lost in the moment. In day-to-day life, this can look however the listener sees fit but, it is definitely one that many of us should do! Be Confident, Be You!
"I wrote this song with my guitar player who is also one of my closest friends Josh Gramling. We sat down to write one day and I was like “Josh I am tired of playing an original song and having people leave the dance floor, we need to write a song that will keep the girls dancing” so I showed him a chorus idea I had kicking around for a while and we went for it. I wanted to write a song that was for women though, not talking down to women, something they could enjoy that wouldn’t be degrading in any way. Get Down Girl is what we ended up with!"
