Gabrielle Metz Releases "Masks" April 8, 2022

Gabrielle Metz is an artist and singer-songwriter from Alabama. Her love for music traces back to as far as she can remember, but really blossomed when she began writing songs at age 14. As she began writing songs, Gabrielle wanted to learn how to play guitar and saved up her own money to purchase her very first guitar. Not only did she purchase the guitar for herself, Gabrielle also taught herself to play while continuing to write her own music.

Gabrielle released her first single on January 24, 2020, ‘Checkered Flag’, which was featured on Women of Country’s Top 10. Shortly after, she released two more singles, ‘Cajun Words’ and ‘Hear My Heart’ in April and August of 2020, respectively. ‘Hear My Heart’ went on to reach EJAZZ Radio Top 20. On October 2, 2020, Gabrielle released ‘Thin Ice,’ which went on to make Ignition Country’s Top 20. Gabrielle released her first Christmas track titled ‘Christmas With You’ which was nominated for Social Stars Best Christmas Song. Gabrielle has been nominated for Alabama Music Awards Best Female Country in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. She has also been nominated for Alabama Music Awards Best New Artist in 2018 and 2019. Gabrielle is also on Country Sways 2021 Artist to Watch.

In March 2022, Metz signed a publishing deal with Heart Songs Music Group and released her first single 'Mask' under the direction of Vice President Devon O'Day. The country-pop ballad talks about pushing people away in fear of being hurt but finding someone that enables the individual to remove the ‘mask’ and be honest and true to themselves. The vocal is heavily produced and slightly takes away from the vulnerability of the lyrical story; however, despite this, the emotive lyrical aspect combines exceptionally well with the musical arrangement, especially the lone, elegant piano lines that begin and end the track.

One of Gabrielle’s many goals as a musician is to get out on the road to tour. Her ultimate goal is to be a full-time artist who pays her bills by doing what she loves, creating and playing music. Playing music live to a crowd is her favorite part of being an artist, and she hopes to be able to play more shows in 2022.
