Rob Riser’s “My Promise” voted “Song of the Week” 4th week of April

Rob Riser, originally from upstate New York who now resides in Nashville, TN, pursuing his dream of being a singer-songwriter definitely knows how to deliver a love song. His debut release “My Promise,” has captured the attention of listeners everywhere, earning him Rt66’s “Song of the Week” for the final week of April 2022.

In this lyrically romantic story, Rob is singing to his love interest, telling what his promises will be in their relationship, wedding vows so to speak. When asked about the inspiration for this tune, Rob stated “I wrote it by myself while I was single, sitting alone listening to a playlist of classic George Strait love songs, wondering where all the beautiful romantic songs went and daydreaming of how I think love should be: sweet, dedicated, strong, true, and romantic.” If that’s what you're looking for in a song, then George Strait is undeniably a songwriter to draw inspiration from. I love how Rob pays tribute to the “King of Country” by referencing him in the lyrics.

I'm gonna love you - With all that I am

I'll be everything for you - And be the best man I can

I'm going to cherish you - Like a George Straight love song

A love so true - And one you can always count on

You're going to know it in everything I do

I'm going to love you - I Promise

I love how the instrumentation is not heavy or overly produced, I feel it deserves to remain simple and sweet to let the focus remain on the lyrics. Therefore whether this ballad is played full band or acoustically, the emphasis stays directed where it was naturally intended. I'm thrilled that Rob released a Live Acoustic in Studio version of this track as well - me, personally, it's my favorite! Let us know in the comments below, which is your favorite, full band or acoustic?

This weeks songs on Rt66 are so fitting with wedding season right around the corner. “My Promise” will undoubtedly end up on various playlists but my bet is that it will surely be on the top of many wedding playlists this year. It could easily be used as part of the ceremony itself or as a first dance song. If you have not heard this heartfelt love song yet be sure to give it a listen.

Rob Riser is a name to keep your ears open for. His next single “Get Down Girl,” is set to release next month on May 13th.
